Authors Needed for November 3rd, 2012 Event

Calling all Authors in the four State Region.  We are now planning the Fall "Gathering of Authors" Texarkana to be held November 3rd, 2012.  It will be on a Saturday at Texas High School in Texarkana Texas from 10 am - 4 pm.  Anyone interested in being an attending author or if you know a business who would like to sponsor the event, please call me at 903-701-1205 or email me at gatheringofauthors@yahoo.com...

KIDS WRITING CONTEST:  There is a pdf file on my website http://www.tammydthompson.com/, for any schools, parents or teachers who know children 3 - 8 grades who want to enter the writing contest.  All entrants will be published in the 2012 Gathering of Authors, printed and bound book of Young Authors.

Our Gathering Christmas Party Dec. 2nd

We had a wonderful time at the Gathering of Authors Christmas Party.  We were honored to share the night with Jan Osborne and Jeannie Faulkner Barber, authors who will be attending the 2012 Fall "Gathering of Authors" and possibly the Gathering in Little Rock in the Spring.  We had a great gathering and got to visit without pressure or deadlines or decorating.  We just enjoyed each others company.  I'll keep everyone updated on anything coming up...Take care,

Join us at the Gathering....share the passion of reading & writing

Spread the word about the Fall "Gathering of Authors" Oct. 21 - 22nd.  On Friday the 21st from 7 - 9 pm we're having a Gathering "St.Jude" Charity Dinner (RSVP at my website on the Charity Dinner link).  There you will get to meet all of the authors at the event and get to know them.  You will get to hear Larry Linam our phenominal speaker and get to hear his story that is an incredible one.  On the 22nd from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, is the actual event, where all of the authors will be set up as well as all of the other activities for kids and the family.  There will be a "Kid's Korner," artist doing drawings for the kids "FREE,"  and much more. 

Many door prizes will be available to those who buy tickets at the door.  All of the ticket  money goes straight to St. Jude, so be generous.

One Day, One Life, One Chance!

We all have one day, no more is promised; One life to show who we are and what we believe in; One Chance to find peace inside of ourselves before the moment comes when it's too late.   Some people take for granted the sun that rises.  They see it as another day to go to work and toil rather than a blessing that you opened your eyes again.  Some people don't take the time to be with those who really matter and before they know it their clock of life has ticked down to nothing...it's ONE LIFE!  There's one chance to find the right pathway in life, the one which leads to the place we'll ultimately be for eternity.  Some fine it sooner than others, and some never do, but still it's there.  One Day, One Life, One Chance!  Feel it, find it, BELIEVE IT!

GATHERING Volunteers Needed

The October Event is going to be a very rewarding time for us all, but it can't happen without  kind hearts volunteering their time to help in Decorations, Food, Set up, Kids Corner, Costume Contest, Writing Contest, Ticket sales, Door Prize Give-Aways and more.  It's a lot to do, but if we all come together, we can  make it happen and make a GRAND impact on our community, making them more aware of how  literacy moves us all to the next level.  Anyone interested can email me at gatheringofauthors@yahoo.com, subject EVENT Volunteer.  Thank you all who have already commited to help.  It means a lot.  In the end, St. Jude and Liteacy wins.  Keep reading and writing.

A MOMENT IN LIFE'S PATH

A year is just a moment in Life’s path you see,  A glimpse of who we are today and for tomorrow who we’ll be.  You smile as your children grow, but then gone away so fast: Remembrance of every tiny thing that happened in the past.  Yet each day we thrive on money and fame, on things and reputation all;  We lift our hands up to politicians and celebrities, those who won’t catch us when we fall.  Then comes the day when we will pray for the right, the just, the fair, We’ll pray for love and happiness, sometimes lacking to be there.  A year is just a moment in life’s path, now I know.  For in the end, it’s not those powerful people who will spiritually help me grow.  Truth be known, it’s in the word, In kind words and helpful hands.  In the end, as life goes by, we’ll turn to our forever friend.  He saw you when you were weeping and when laughter filled your soul.  He was there when you strived for better, as success stood as your goal.  So, think sometimes at how long life is.  Is just a moment or a day.  For it doesn’t matter if your heart is corrupt and if you fail to pray.  Don’t thrive for fame and money, but for goodness from within, And know when these years are gone, you’ll be welcomed by your forever friend.  Then you’ll know what time is, only a fragment of space and then it’s gone.  Don’t take for granted anything and always know right from wrong.  Then comes your day to find your way to the greater space above.  Hopefully it will be filled the same in your heart, as on earth…so full of love.  A year is just a moment in life’s path you see…For you decide the person you truly want to be.
